Item: zuni Fetish inspired bear claw necklace. East meets west in this one. The “bear claw” necklace is a warrior’s necklace. The design is inspired by an old favorite. Only the hunter who killed the bear could wear the bear claws. A contemporary take, I create this design using different colors and materials, stone or shell spikes- priced by materials with wampum in between each spike. These have been popular items that make the person wearing it feel strong. This bear claw necklace is made using wampum and turquoise. A longer more traditional piece carved Fetish buffalo birds, stars, many up-cycled elements. Long, not heavy, versatile.
